“We don’t just give our families answers so they feel good. We provide resources so they can get well.”
– Angela Carrillo, Founder & CEO, Brass Tacks Recovery
How are Brass Tacks Recovery’s unique services rooted in ethics and values?
Our entire company is built on our principles. The first word that comes to mind with anything we do is “integrity”. As individuals and as a company, we are unwilling to compromise our integrity. Every decision that we make is rooted in our morals; from deciding what’s best for the client, to which treatment centers we choose to work with. For Brass Tacks Recovery, our values are everything.
When Angela and I came together to start Brass Tacks Recovery, one of our main concerns with the mental health industry was the unethical behavior of the many treatment centers and professionals. Angela and I looked at each other and said, “We’re going to start a company where our ethics and values are more important than the money that we make.” At that time, we both understood that Brass Tacks Recovery would either make it, or it wouldn’t make it, because we were not willing to negotiate our values.
Why are your principles so important to every service you provide?
We don’t believe we can ask family members and clients to stand in their own principles if we are unwilling to stand in ours. We understand that sending your loved one to treatment, and being able to support them during the delicate first year of recovery, can be expensive. Brass Tacks Recovery ensures that our families’ funds are spent in the most appropriate way, so that the family system is not abused at one of the most frightening times in their lives. When a loved one’s life is at stake, we make sure that their family’s vulnerability does not become a point of capitalization for a dishonest treatment center. We genuinely protect our clients and their families by providing them with guidance, awareness and education.
How does faith play a role in Brass Tacks Recovery’s services?
We have faith in our process. We have faith in our capabilities as individuals, and as a company. We have faith in the resources we provide families. When a family calls us, they’re reaching for hope because they’ve lost faith in the system. We have faith in the fact that we will appropriately help a family do almost anything to recover from the effects of alcoholism and addiction, while supporting healthy recovery for their loved one.
We built this company because we believe that our process works. If clients and families follow our lead and utilize our recommended resources, we know that they can heal. Often, many families who come to us have been through the ringer. They’ve been through the treatment process numerous times, and nothing is working to help their loved one recover. At this point, they don’t have much faith in recovery or the recovery industry. However, once they surrender and trust in our process, they are finally able to achieve the peace they deserve.
How does Brass Tacks Recovery help parents find and maintain faith?
By the time the family has called us, they have generally exhausted their emotional and financial resources. That family is losing faith. Yet, as a parent, a husband, a wife, a sibling, it’s virtually impossible to completely lose faith that something can help. So, when we connect with the family in an intimate way, when we pay attention to each individual family member, and when we take notice of the family’s unique needs, their faith is rekindled. This faith is maintained throughout our process because what we do is solution-based.We don’t just give our families answers so they feel good. We provide resources so they can get well.
Brass Tacks Recovery has faith that your family can achieve long-term recovery when you trust our professional guidelines, suggestions and boundaries that have been proven effective. Please call (888) 277-8225.
