The Brass Tacks Recovery Team

Erin Titus – Executive Assistant

I understood from a very early age that not only does the alcoholic need treatment, the entire family needs healing.

Coming from a dysfunctional family with heavy alcohol and drug abuse, that I could not stop or control, has ingrained in me an innate drive to want to help people. I found myself searching for a career path where I would be able to utilize my compassion and empathy for people in crisis. Standing on the sidelines is not for me. I want to be an active participant in the healing process for anyone in need. As a child, not being able to heal my own family, put me on a path of service as an adult. I have mentored young adults, organized food drives for the homeless, toy drives for the less advantaged and coordinated school service hours at shelters.

My professional career has involved working directly with at-risk, foster and homeless youth. I have spent the last 11 years volunteering to coach soccer for teen girls and boys. Many of these kids have insufficient or no family structure and their opportunities are greatly limited. I have organized fundraising events to provide sports scholarships for them as well.

When I heard about Brass Tacks Recovery, I knew I wanted to be a part of their genuine and compassionate team where they focus on the entire family system and give unwavering support 24/7. I feel a tremendous amount of gratitude and pride to be chosen to be a part of this dedicated team who are authentically committed to healing lives and changing family dynamics. I have some personal experience in this arena as I raised two of my nieces who had to be removed from drug addicted parents.
